AstellBio Effluent Decontamination Systems use controlled heat, pressure and exposure time to sterilize biologically hazardous wastewater before discharge – without adding chemical sterilants to the waste stream. The range includes solutions for individual laboratory applications as well as centralized treatment of higher wastewater volumes.
Batch Effluent Decontamination Systems
Designed for BSL2 and BSL3 facilities and suitable for both liquids and liquid-solid mixtures with solids up to 4 mm. Depending on the model and configuration, processing capacity ranges from 1 000 to 6 300 L per 8-hour day. Single-tank, twin-tank and additional holding-tank configurations are available.
Continuous Flow Effluent Decontamination Systems
Suitable for predictable or consistently high wastewater flows with minimal solids. Available flow rates range from 100 to 1 000 L/h, with thermal treatment at 140 °C for 1 minute and heat recovery of up to 80%.
Compact and Point-of-Use Systems
For individual sinks, drains, laboratory instruments and smaller workflows where a central EDS is not required. Available configurations include an integrated sink system, a compact drain-connected unit, a combined sink and autoclave station, and a fully automated liquid-waste system with a capacity of up to 200 L/h.

The appropriate configuration depends mainly on:
Batch systems are suitable where suspended solids may be present, while continuous-flow systems are intended for effluent with minimal solids, as significant particulate content can foul heat exchangers and block narrow pipework.
