Key Advantages of the Bionet F1 Bioreactor

  • Broad application range – supports microbial fermentation, mammalian and plant cell culture, airlift, photobioreactors, and patented 2D rocking motion
  • Vessel compatibility – compatible with both reusable glass vessels and single-use bags
  • Single or TWIN configuration – enables parallel processing with two independent vessels
  • GMP compliant – ready for production environments

Plug&Play Architecture and Scalable Design

The F1 bioreactor platform is fully modular and expandable based on user needs:

• bVSP – Variable Speed Pump Module

Expands the standard pump configuration (2 fixed-speed + 1 variable-speed) with additional variable-speed pumps. Ideal for implementing complex dosing strategies (fed-batch, perfusion) and managing multiple additions or withdrawals (e.g., continuous sampling or harvesting) with customizable feed/bleed profiles.

• bScale – Laboratory/Industrial Weighing Module

Enables real-time weight monitoring of the vessel or feed containers. Essential for precision media addition, evaporation tracking, or continuous operation control. Compatible with various balance types and brands.

• bBreath – Exhaust Gas Analysis Module

Continuously monitors O₂ and CO₂ concentrations in the exhaust gas, providing valuable metabolic indicators. This data enables real-time adjustments to improve process productivity and product quality by tracking culture respiration intensity.

• Gas Module Expansion

The standard F1 comes with a single MFC (Mass Flow Controller) for sparger-based gas delivery. The expanded module supports up to four independent MFCs, allowing accurate mixing of up to four gases (Air, O₂, CO₂, N₂) delivered via sparger and/or overlay. This setup provides full environmental control — from maintaining dissolved oxygen levels to pH regulation via CO₂ addition. All gas components integrate seamlessly with the automation system for centralized control.

On-site expansion: All modules can be installed directly in your lab without returning the unit to the factory.

A Scalable Bioreactor for R&D and Beyond
